Lin Hale (nee Jansen), age 72, of Nicholasville, passed away on August 8, 2026. She was born July 17, 1954, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late Mercedes Jansen (nee Nickert) and Robert Jansen.

Lin graduated from Regina High School and began her career as a personnel manager. She eventually moved to California, where she met and married Roger Hale. They had two beautiful children and lived in Nicholasville, KY. After Roger’s unexpected passing in 2003, Lin studied and became a licensed massage therapist, building a career to help others heal. She was beloved by those whose pain she eased through touch, laughter, and empathy.

Lin was strong-willed, independent, and unapologetically herself. She was “old school,” had strong opinions, and never suffered fools. But beneath that toughness was a deeply tender heart. She loved her family fiercely and cared deeply for the people fortunate enough to call her a friend. Her laugh was unmistakable and could be heard across any gathering. She had a way of bringing her own energy and personality into every room, and there was never any mistaking when Lin was there.

Lin was a devoted and active member of St. Luke’s parish for over 30 years. Her faith and her church community were an important part of her life.
Lin is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Roger A. Hale; her brothers Robert W. (Joann) Jansen Jr. of Michigan; Kenneth B. (Mary Lou) Jansen of Ohio; and Tom Jansen of Kentucky.

Survivors include her daughter Katelyn “Katie” and son Kyle, her sister Nikki Hostutler (nee Jansen), numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

A memorial Mass will be held at St Luke’s Catholic Church on September 11, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. with a celebration of Lin’s life to follow.
